You have come to
the best place on the planet for film conversions
Our Unique Film Conversion Process
enables your 8mm and 16mm Movie Film to be Preserved forever.
Film Preparation: Each reel of film is carefully examined,
prepared, cleaned and lubricated as is necessary. Film requiring
restoration is treated to a bath of the finest quality chemicals
available; this process gently restores and lubricates the film to
enable conversion.
Digital Remastering: Our film conversion process is truly
state of the art. Using a uniquely designed film interface unit, we
capture each and every frame of the film with a high resolution 3ccd
broadcast quality digital camera unit. This allows us to capture the
image as it was and obtain the highest quality reproduction possible.
The film frames are captured to a digital editing system where the film
is then completely preserved.
From there each frame of the film is re-assembled where the normal
flickers and jumps that appear in the original film are eliminated. The
proper speed is then applied to the final film so it plays back
appropriately on your television.
Final Cut: After the film is digitally re-mastered, it is
then edited to clean up the film leaders and trails that were capture in
the original conversion process. From here, individual reels are edited
together and music is applied in our broadcast editing system. After
final editing is complete, the film is then authored to DVD or your
media of choice.
Preview Reels: In the event you do not know what is on
your films, we will provide you with a Preview Reel DVD which will allow
you to view each film reel on your television individually, prior to us
producing the final DVD. Once you view your films, you simply note the
appropriate order of each reel and let us know then we’ll complete your
final home movie. The Preview Reel is yours to keep.
Run Times: Typically 8 mm film is on 50ft reels (they are
3” diameter). Each reel will run approximately 3 to 3-1/2 minutes on
television. We will typically put between 1 – 1-1/2 hours maximum on one
DVD to provide the ultimate resolution.
Finished DVD: After all conversion and editing is complete
your final video is delivered on a premium quality DVD packaged in a
fancy plastic DVD box complete with full color print and your title.
Optionally, we can put any color photo or print on to the disc face and
package for you. DVDs are versatile
and are the most popular method for video today. DVDs have an extremely
long shelf life and will offer conversion opportunities far into the
future as standards continue to change. Optionally you can receive your
conversions as digital files for editing or archive, media server
streaming or online sharing/streaming on sites like Facebook or Youtube.
Once your video is converted to DVD or Digital File, the original
quality is forever preserved. Unlimited numbers of copies of the DVD or
File can be made with
